Description of Product
My product for my Junior year project will be a PowerPoint on my internship at Huntington Beach Police Department Air Support Unit. There were many things I learned while I was interning. One specific process that I was able to experience first hand was the pre-flight inspection.
Description of Effort
In total I have worked for approximately 2.5 hours on my product description. Some difficulties that I have faced have been really defining the process that I have learned. I gained a tremendous understanding as to the job that I shadowed but putting that into words and showing what I learned has be tough.
Learning Stretch
Throughout my Junior year Fastrak project I have obtained a great deal of information that has helped me further my understanding of this unique career field. During my time at the Huntington Beach Police Department Air Support Unit I was able to talk with my mentor, Officer Nick Vella about his vast experience as a police officer. I was also able to meet with his partner and learn about his about his experience as well. Between the two of them I was able to ask so many questions about the variety of work they do within their position. I was also to hear about many unique experiences that they have had while working in the air support unit. It is difficult to show what I learned through my experience, so I focused on the pre-flight inspection, as this is something that Officer Vella took me through each time that we flew in the helicopter.
